Sukta 8.41

Devata: Varuṇa with the Maruts (associated powers)

अस्मा ऊ षु प्रभूतये वरुणाय मरुद्भ्योऽर्चा विदुष्टरेभ्यः । यो धीता मानुषाणां पश्वो गा इव रक्षति नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥

asmā ū ṣu prabhūtaye varuṇāya marudbhyo 'rcā viduṣṭarebhyaḥ | yo dhītā mānuṣāṇāṃ paśvo gā iva rakṣati nabhantām anyake same ||

À lui — oui, à l’ampleur pour l’abondance — chante un hymne: à Varuṇa et aux Maruts, puissances les plus savantes; à celui qui, fondateur de la pensée chez les hommes, garde les troupeaux comme des vaches — que les forces resplendissent dans une autre, plus haute identité.
