महान्ता मित्रावरुणा सम्राजा देवावसुरा । ऋतावानावृतमा घोषतो बृहत् ॥
mahā́ntā mitrā́varuṇā samrā́jā devā́v asurā́ | ṛtá-vānāv ṛtám ā́ ghoṣato bṛhát ||
Vastes sont Mitra et Varuṇa — deux rois ensemble, divins et seigneuriaux, porteurs du ṛta. Ils proclament à haute voix le ṛta, le Grand (Bṛhat), afin que l’âme l’entende et reçoive sa loi de juste harmonie.
