शुचिं न यामन्निषिरं स्वर्दृशं केतुं दिवो रोचनस्थामुषर्बुधम् । अग्निं मूर्धानं दिवो अप्रतिष्कुतं तमीमहे नमसा वाजिनं बृहत् ॥
śucíṃ na yā́mann iṣiráṃ svaḥ-dṛ́śaṃ ketúṃ divó rocaná-sthām uṣar-búdhām | agníṃ mūrdhā́naṃ divó áprati-skutaṃ tám īmahe námasā vā́jinaṃ bṛhát ||
Nous recherchons avec adoration Agni — pur comme la voie du mouvement, au tranchant aigu de puissance, voyant la lumière de Svar; le signe lumineux du ciel, établi dans les demeures de clarté, éveillé avec l’Aurore. Agni, la Tête et le sommet du ciel, la Flamme irrésistible qu’on ne peut repousser — nous le prions; le Grand, dispensateur de butin.
