Sukta 1.55
स हि श्रवस्युः सदनानि कृत्रिमा क्ष्मया वृधान ओजसा विनाशयन् । ज्योतींषि कृण्वन्नवृकाणि यज्यवेऽव सुक्रतुः सर्तवा अपः सृजत् ॥
sa hí śravasyúḥ sádanāni kṛtrímā kṣmáyā vṛdhānó ójasā vi-nāśáyan | jyótīṃṣi kṛṇván avṛkā́ṇi yajyavé’va su-krátuḥ sártavā́ ápaḥ sṛ́jat ||
Car il est le chercheur de gloire : croissant en puissance, il détruit par sa force, sur le champ de la terre, les demeures artificielles des ténèbres. Rendant les lumières inattaquables pour celui qui sacrifie, le sage de volonté (su-kratu) relâche les eaux—il laisse les courants suivre leur cours.
