शुकवाक्यं (Śuka’s Report on the Vānara Host) / Śuka Describes the Allied Forces to Rāvaṇa
यस्यैषदक्षिणेपार्श्वेशुद्धजाम्बूनदप्रभः ।विशालवक्षास्ताम्राक्षोनीलकुञ्जितमूर्धजः ।।6.28.22।।एषोऽस्यलक्ष्मणोनामभ्राताप्राणसमःप्रियः ।नयेयुद्धेचकुशलस्सर्वशस्त्रभृतंवरः ।।6.28.23।।
eṣo 'sya lakṣmaṇo nāma bhrātā prāṇasamaḥ priyaḥ |
naye yuddhe ca kuśalaḥ sarvaśastrabhṛtāṃ varaḥ ||6.28.23||
Voici son frère, nommé Lakṣmaṇa, aussi cher que la vie même ; habile dans l’art de gouverner et dans la guerre, le plus excellent de tous ceux qui portent les armes.
"He is one who does not forgive (Rama's enemies), difficult to win, indomitable, victorious, strong and wise one. He is the right hand of Rama and external breath of his life."
