Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
Vibheeshana, having addressed Ravana in harsh language, reached Rama and Lakshmana in a short while.
The verse points toward dharma as moral alignment and accountability: Vibhīṣaṇa, after condemning wrongdoing, moves toward the righteous side, indicating that loyalty must yield to truth and dharma.
After confronting Rāvaṇa with severe words, Vibhīṣaṇa departs and promptly reaches the location of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa, setting up his request for refuge.
Vibhīṣaṇa’s moral courage and commitment to satya (truth) are emphasized—he acts decisively after speaking against adharma.
