Alors Rāvaṇa, déversant du ciel des milliers de torrents de flèches tels des nuées de pluie, remplit l’espace autour de Rāghava de traits, comme on inonde un bassin d’eau.
Valiant hero, Ravana, with his eyes flaming in anger, raising his bow, rained arrows at Sri Rama. He continued to rain thousands of arrows just as rain filled the tank, his arrows covered Raghava.
The verse sets the stage for testing steadfastness: dharma is shown not merely in attacking, but in enduring trials without abandoning right conduct.
Rāvaṇa intensifies the fight by unleashing a massive arrow-storm upon Rāma.
Rāma’s resilience is implied by the scale of the assault he faces; the narrative prepares the reader to see composure under pressure.
