Indra’s Chariot Offered to Rāma; The Duel Intensifies
रथेनममभूमिष्ठंशीघ्रंयाहिरघूत्तमम् ।।।।आहूयभूतलंयातःकुरुदेवहितंमहत् ।
rathena mama bhūmiṣṭhaṃ śīghraṃ yāhi raghūttamam |
āhūya bhūtalaṃ yātaḥ kuru deva-hitaṃ mahat ||
«Va vite dans mon char vers le plus éminent des Raghu, qui se tient sur la terre ; appelle-le et, descendu sur le champ de bataille, accomplis ce grand bien voulu par les dieux.»
Sri Rama steadily covered Ravana, the ten headed Rakshasa with shining shafts covered with gold glowing like fire in the battle.
Dharma includes restoring proper conditions for righteous action: the gods support Rāma so the battle proceeds without unfair imbalance.
Indra commands Mātali to bring his divine chariot to Rāma and invite him to ride it.
Service to dharma: Mātali is tasked with swift, obedient action for the larger good.
