Lakshmana’s Revival by the Herb-Mountain
अ यं स समरश्लाघीभ्रातामेशुभलक्षणः ।यदिपञ्चत्वमापन्नःप्राणैर्मेकिंसुखेनवा ।।।।
ayaṃ sa samaraślāghī bhrātā me śubhalakṣaṇaḥ |
yadi pañcatvam āpannaḥ prāṇair me kiṃ sukhena vā ||

'Those who speak truth never fail their vows futile for fulfilment of the vows is a mark of greatness for them'.
It highlights the dharmic weight of familial duty and loyalty: without protecting and honoring one’s righteous kin, personal pleasure and even life feel morally empty.
Rāma sees Lakṣmaṇa grievously struck in battle and is overwhelmed, questioning the value of continuing if his brother has fallen.
