Viśvāmitra Attains Brahmarṣi Status
न ह्यस्य वृजिनं किञ्चिद्दृश्यते सूक्ष्ममप्यथ।।1.65.11।।न दीयते यदि त्वस्य मनसा यदभीप्सितम्।विनाशयति त्रैलोक्यं तपसा सचराचरम्।।1.65.12।।
na hy asya vṛjinaṃ kiñcid dṛśyate sūkṣmam apy atha | na dīyate yadi tv asya manasā yad abhīpsitam | vināśayati trailokyaṃ tapasā sacarācaram ||
On ne peut trouver en lui aucune faute, pas même la plus petite. Si l’on ne lui donne pas ce qu’il désire ardemment, il peut, par l’élan de ses austérités, détruire les trois mondes avec tous les êtres, mobiles et immobiles.
His penance was flawless. If his wishes were not granted, he will surely destroy by his austerities the three worlds with all movables and immovables.
The verse reiterates that spiritual accomplishment must be governed by dharma; otherwise even merit can become an instrument of harm when tied to personal demand.
A repeated/numbered variant restates the gods’ concern: Viśvāmitra’s wish must be handled carefully to prevent cosmic disruption.
Ascetic purity and potency, alongside the implied need for self-control and wise mediation.
