The Lamentation Concerning Yama
पुराणेऽपि जगन्नाथ न श्रुतं पटमार्जनम् । सोऽहं न जांना मि कदाचिदाश दृष्ट्वा क्षिरीशं हरिसेवने स्थितम् । प्रवादमानं पटहं सुघोरं प्रलोपमानं ममविश्ममार्गम् ॥ १६ ॥
purāṇe'pi jagannātha na śrutaṃ paṭamārjanam | so'haṃ na jāṃnā mi kadācidāśa dṛṣṭvā kṣirīśaṃ harisevane sthitam | pravādamānaṃ paṭahaṃ sughoraṃ pralopamānaṃ mamaviśmamārgam || 16 ||
Ô Jagannātha, même dans les Purāṇa je n’avais jamais entendu parler de cette « purification du tissu ». Je ne l’avais jamais imaginée non plus—jusqu’au jour où je vis Kṣirīśa, demeurant dans le service de Hari, frapper un tambour d’une clameur redoutable, comme pour dégager mon chemin difficile.
