Je vais maintenant décrire brièvement la juste manière de l’adorer : écoute, ô deux-fois-né. Elle est grave et redoutable, animée de la colère de la Mort, et sa tête est ornée du bindu sacré.
Narada (in instruction mode to a dvija/ritual student within the dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It frames the worship as a disciplined, concise vidhi: the devotee is urged to listen attentively, and the deity’s formidable “death-like” aspect signals protective, awe-inspiring power that demands reverence and precision.
Bhakti here is expressed through samarcana—structured worship—where devotion is not merely emotion but careful listening, correct procedure, and honoring the deity’s fierce, guardian form.
Ritual instruction emphasizes precise liturgical method (prayoga/vidhi) and external marks like the bindu/tilaka as part of worship protocol—elements aligned with applied Vedic practice and traditional discipline.
