Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the technical/ritual context of Book 1.3)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: vira
It frames mantra-sādhana as a complete discipline: japa is supported by homa and pīṭha-pūjā, showing that inner repetition is strengthened by purificatory and consecratory ritual aṅgas.
Even when presented as technical practice, the sequence culminates in pūjā—devotional worship—implying that disciplined repetition and offerings mature into reverent service to the deity invoked by the mantra.
It highlights ritual procedure and proportional reckoning (daśāṃśa)—a practical rule used in mantra-vidhi: after a fixed japa count, perform homa at one-tenth and complete the cycle with prescribed upacāras like milk worship on the pīṭha.
