Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada, within a technical mantra-vidhi section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It preserves a precise recitation-sequence used for protective, forceful (kriyā) utterances—invoking Garuḍa as a power-symbol and then applying verbs that “scatter, pierce, terrify, and crush” negativities through disciplined mantra-order.
Even in technical sections, the Purana ties practice to sacred agency: invoking Garuḍa (closely associated with Viṣṇu) frames the act as reliance on divine protection, showing how disciplined ritual speech can support devotional life by removing obstacles.
It highlights procedural precision in recitation—especially repetition rules (yuga = doubling) and correct ordering of mantra-words, reflecting Vedanga concerns such as śikṣā (phonetics) and vyākaraṇa (word-forms/imperative usage) applied to ritual performance.
