Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It sets a disciplined standard for mantra-practice: intensive japa is sealed by a proportional homa, turning inner repetition into an outward sacrificial offering and strengthening the rite’s completeness (pūrṇatā).
While primarily ritual-technical, it supports bhakti by prescribing sustained mantra-remembrance (japa) and offering (homa), both of which cultivate focused devotion and reverence toward the divine order protected by the Lokapālas.
Prayoga-style ritual proportioning is highlighted: the rule that homa should be one-tenth of the japa count, using ghṛta (ghee) as the standard oblation—an applied, procedure-focused aspect of Vedic ritual science.
