It highlights dharma as active protection of sacred spaces: a righteous leader dispatches a capable protector to remove obstructive forces (yakshas/rakshasas) so spiritual practice in an āśrama can proceed without disturbance.
Bhakti is supported by maintaining purity and safety around worship and tapas; removing disruptive influences preserves the environment where devotion, mantra, and yajña can be performed steadily.
Indirectly, it points to the applied side of Vedic practice—protecting yajña/āśrama settings from obstacles—an important prerequisite for correct ritual performance (kalpa-oriented discipline), even though no specific Vedanga rule is explicitly stated in this verse.
