The Exposition of Hanumān’s Protective Kavaca
Māruti-kavaca
Narada (teaching/instructional narration within Third Pada technical-religious context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches the efficacy of mantra-dhāraṇā (steady retention/recitation): spiritual steadiness and sacred sound are presented as immediate remedies that dissolve external disturbances and fear-based suffering.
By emphasizing “holding” the sacred formula, it points to continuous remembrance (smaraṇa) and faith-filled repetition—core bhakti disciplines—through which anxieties and hostile influences lose power.
It highlights applied mantra-prayoga and dhāraṇā as a shānti/rakṣā method—aligned with technical disciplines used in ritual practice (proper retention and focused recitation as a remedial measure).
