Rāhu et Ketu—redoutables dans leurs effets—ainsi que les demeures lunaires et les signes du zodiaque; les tithis, les saṅkrāntis, les mois, les années et les souverains des âges (yugas) doivent aussi être connus.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in a Vedanga/Jyotisha context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It frames time and celestial factors—nodes, stars, signs, tithis, and larger cycles—as part of dharmic order, guiding when actions and rites should be performed with awareness of cosmic rhythm.
By listing the time-units used to schedule vrata, pūjā, and festival observances, it supports bhakti in practice—devotion expressed through correctly timed worship and vows.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa: the calendrical-astronomical framework of nakṣatra, rāśi, tithi, saṅkrānti, month, year, and yuga-based reckoning used for ritual timing.
