Qu’il le récite mille fois la nuit ; il obtiendra promptement le fruit désiré. L’observance achevée, en un jour propice, qu’il nourrisse les plus excellents des deux-fois-nés, les brāhmaṇa savants.
Narada (teaching in a ritual-technical context within Book 1.3)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links inner practice (night-time japa done in a fixed count) with outer completion (feeding worthy brāhmaṇas), presenting a complete dhārmic method for attaining one’s intended fruit.
By emphasizing repeated japa (remembrance through recitation) and a concluding act of respect and generosity, it supports devotion as disciplined remembrance joined with service to the virtuous.
Ritual procedure and timing: specifying rātri-japa (night recitation), a fixed numerical count (sahasra), and proper closure of an observance on an auspicious day with brāhmaṇa-bhojana (feeding learned brāhmaṇas).
