Procedure for Lamp-Offering to Hanumān
Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada on technical ritual procedure)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links correct ritual geometry (ṣaṭkoṇa/hexagon) and mantra-structure (ṣaḍaṅga with bīja) with devotion, culminating in the worship of Māruti—showing that precise method and bhakti together make the worship effective.
Even within technical mantra-and-yantra practice, the verse ends with direct worship of Hanumān, indicating that disciplined procedure is meant to support heartfelt reverence toward the deity.
It highlights applied ritual science: structured mantra-application (ṣaḍaṅga/nyāsa) and diagrammatic inscription (yantra-lekhana), a technical procedure characteristic of the Narada Purana’s Third Pada.
