Hanumān-mantra-kathana: Mantra-bheda, Nyāsa, Yantra, and Prayoga
महाभये महोत्पाते स्मृतोऽयं दुःखनाशनः । द्वादशार्णस्य षट्कूटं त्यक्त्वा बीजं तथादिमम् ॥ ९९ ॥
mahābhaye mahotpāte smṛto'yaṃ duḥkhanāśanaḥ | dvādaśārṇasya ṣaṭkūṭaṃ tyaktvā bījaṃ tathādimam || 99 ||

Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada on mantra-vidhi within the Vedanga/ritual-technical context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It teaches that in extreme danger and ominous times, simplified remembrance/recitation of a sacred formula is itself a potent remedy, emphasizing compassion in ritual law and the immediate efficacy of mantra-smaraṇa for removing distress.
By stressing “smaraṇa” (remembrance) as duḥkha-nāśana, it aligns with bhakti’s core practice: turning the mind to the Lord/mantra in crisis, even without elaborate components, making devotion accessible in emergencies.
It reflects mantra-śāstra/ritual procedure: adjusting a mantra’s structure (dropping bīja and technical segmentation like ṣaṭkūṭa) under āpaddharma—an applied rule-set within the technical sciences discussed in Book 1.3.
