Hanumān-mantra-kathana: Mantra-bheda, Nyāsa, Yantra, and Prayoga
तद्दिने भूमिशय्यां च ब्रह्मचर्य्यं समाचरेत् । एवं यः कुरुते मर्त्यः सोऽचिरादेव निश्चितम् ॥ ५१ ॥
taddine bhūmiśayyāṃ ca brahmacaryyaṃ samācaret | evaṃ yaḥ kurute martyaḥ so'cirādeva niścitam || 51 ||
Ce jour-là, on doit dormir à même le sol et observer le brahmacarya (continence). Le mortel qui agit ainsi obtient assurément très vite le fruit visé : telle est la certitude.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada on vrata-dharma and observances)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It prescribes bodily restraint—sleeping on the ground and celibacy—as a vrata-niyama that purifies intention and strengthens tapas, leading to swift and certain spiritual merit.
By recommending self-control on the sacred day, it supports bhakti through disciplined living: reducing sensual distraction helps fix the mind on the deity and the vow’s purpose, making devotion steadier and more effective.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implied: the verse gives concrete vrata-rules (niyamas) such as bhūmiśayyā and brahmacarya, showing how observances are structured to yield a promised fruit (phala).
