Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 133

Śeṣoditya-Sūrya-nyāsa, Soma-sādhana, Graha-pūjā, and Bhauma-vrata-vidhi

विपरोगादिपीडासु कलहे स्वजनोद्भवे । पिप्पलोत्थसमिद्भिश्च जुहुयात्तन्निवृत्तये ॥ १३३ ॥

viparogādipīḍāsu kalahe svajanodbhave | pippalotthasamidbhiśca juhuyāttannivṛttaye || 133 ||

Lorsqu’on est accablé par de graves maladies et des peines connexes, ou lorsque des querelles surgissent au sein de sa propre famille, qu’on verse des āhuti dans le feu en utilisant des brindilles de pippala (figuier sacré), afin que ces afflictions s’apaisent.
