गङ्गामाहात्म्य — The Greatness of the Gaṅgā
अहो सत्सङ्गतिर्लोके किं पापं न विनाशयेत् । न तदातिसुखं किं वा नराणां पुण्यकर्मणाम् ॥ ६ ॥
aho satsaṅgatirloke kiṃ pāpaṃ na vināśayet | na tadātisukhaṃ kiṃ vā narāṇāṃ puṇyakarmaṇām || 6 ||
Ah ! En ce monde, quel péché la sainte compagnie (satsaṅga) ne détruirait-elle pas ? Et quelle joie plus grande pour les hommes que le mérite né des actes justes ?
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada on dharma through the praise of satsaṅga)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It declares satsaṅga (holy company) as a direct purifier: sincere association with the virtuous dissolves pāpa and becomes a primary cause for inner uplift and dharmic living.
Bhakti is strengthened by sat-saṅga: being near devotees and dharmic teachers naturally reduces sinful tendencies and redirects the mind toward worship, remembrance, and virtuous conduct.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is ethical discipline (sadācāra) and choosing uplifting association as a daily sādhanā.
