Suta (narrator) describing the episode within the Purva Bhaga narrative
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It emphasizes Dharma through samskāra: recognizing auspiciousness in a new life and sanctifying it by performing prescribed rites properly (vidhipūrvakam), aligning family life with sacred order.
By stressing reverent, rule-based auspicious observances, it supports bhakti as lived devotion—honoring the divine order through grateful, consecratory actions at key life-moments.
The verse points to procedural ritual knowledge (Kalpa) and the idea of jātaka as natal observance—often connected in practice with jyotiṣa-style timing and auspiciousness for ceremonies.
