Bhakti-Śraddhā-Ācāra-Māhātmya and the Commencement of the Mārkaṇḍeya Narrative
Narada (narrating within the Narada Purana dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It teaches that sincere stuti (devotional praise) culminates in pratyakṣa-darśana—God’s tangible presence—showing the Lord’s readiness to respond to heartfelt devotion.
Bhakti is presented as śravaṇa and kīrtana-centered devotion: the Lord ‘hears’ the praise and grants grace by revealing Himself, emphasizing a personal, responsive relationship with Viṣṇu.
The verse primarily highlights stuti as a devotional practice rather than a Vedāṅga; indirectly it reflects correct mantra/stotra recitation (linked to Śikṣā—proper phonetics) as a supportive discipline for worship.
