Yajñamālī–Sumālī Upākhyāna: Merit-Transfer through Temple Plastering (Lepa) and the Redemption of a Sinner
Narada (narrating to Sanatkumara and the Kumāras)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It illustrates karma-phala in Purāṇic storytelling: meritorious causes yield immediate celestial rewards (a vimāna and pleasures), yet the focus remains on the patterned results of action rather than ultimate liberation.
This verse itself highlights enjoyment in heavenly realms (bhoga) rather than direct bhakti-sādhana; in the broader Narada Purana frame, such svarga-rewards are contrasted with Viṣṇu-bhakti, which aims beyond temporary pleasures toward lasting spiritual attainment.
No explicit Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught here; the verse is primarily narrative, using standard Purāṇic imagery of a vimāna to depict the fruition of merit.
