Pour celui en qui sont solidement établis la non-violence, la vérité, le non-vol, la chasteté et le non-attachement aux possessions, c’est sur lui seul que le Seigneur des mondes se réjouit.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It states that the Lord’s grace is won not merely by outward rites, but by inner ethical foundations—ahimsa, truth, honesty, chastity, and non-possessiveness—forming the bedrock of dharma that makes one fit for devotion and liberation.
Bhakti is presented as inseparable from character: when these yamas are lived steadily, the heart becomes pure and steady, and the Lord of the worlds is naturally pleased—making devotion effective and mature.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana or Jyotisha) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is sadachara (right conduct) as the prerequisite discipline that supports all mantra, ritual, and scriptural study.
