Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 17

Gṛhastha-nitya-karman: Śauca, Sandhyā-vidhi, Pañca-yajña, and Āśrama-krama

स्त्रीणामनुपनीतानां गंधलेपक्षयावधि । व्रतस्थानां तु सर्वेषां यतिवच्छौचमिष्यते ॥ १७ ॥

strīṇāmanupanītānāṃ gaṃdhalepakṣayāvadhi | vratasthānāṃ tu sarveṣāṃ yativacchaucamiṣyate || 17 ||

Pour les femmes qui n’ont pas reçu l’upanayana, la pureté doit être observée jusqu’à ce que le parfum ou l’onguent appliqué se soit dissipé. Mais pour tous ceux qui demeurent établis dans un vœu (vrata), la pureté prescrite est tenue pour celle d’un ascète (yati).
