The Pañcarātra Vow (Haripañcaka Vrata): Observance from Śukla Ekādaśī to Pūrṇimā
पञ्चामृतादिपूजा तु सामान्या दिनपञ्चसु । क्षीरेण स्नापयेद्विष्णुं पौर्णमास्यां तु शक्तितः । तिलहोमश्च कर्त्तव्यस्तिलदानं तथैव च ॥ १४ ॥
pañcāmṛtādipūjā tu sāmānyā dinapañcasu | kṣīreṇa snāpayedviṣṇuṃ paurṇamāsyāṃ tu śaktitaḥ | tilahomaśca karttavyastiladānaṃ tathaiva ca || 14 ||
Le culte qui commence par l’offrande de pañcāmṛta est un rite commun aux cinq jours sacrés. Mais au jour de pleine lune, selon ses moyens, on doit baigner le Seigneur Viṣṇu avec du lait; et l’on doit aussi accomplir le tila-homa (oblations de sésame) et faire don de sésame en aumône.

It teaches that regular devotion is maintained through standard pañcāmṛta worship, while Paurṇimā (full moon) is highlighted for intensified offerings—milk abhiṣeka, sesame homa, and sesame charity—done according to one’s means, linking bhakti with dāna and yajña.
Bhakti here is expressed as steady, repeatable worship (sāmānyā pūjā) and as special-day intensification (Paurṇimā), where loving service to Viṣṇu includes both personal ritual (snāna/abhiṣeka) and outward virtue (dāna).
Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implicit: it prescribes specific upacāras—abhiṣeka with milk, tila-homa, and tila-dāna—timed to a lunar observance (Paurṇimā), reflecting applied ritual discipline aligned with calendrical practice.
