Dharmānukathana
Narration of Dharma
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It equates specific acts of charity with the merit of major Vedic acts—pilgrimage bathing and sacrificial initiation—showing that dana can confer high spiritual results and exalted lokas.
While not explicitly naming Vishnu-bhakti, it reinforces a core puranic ethic: sincere, dharmic offering (dana) purifies the giver and becomes a devotional act when performed selflessly and with reverence.
Ritual dharma is implied through terms like dīkṣita (sacrificial consecration) and yajña; it points to the practical framework of Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Smarta-dharma governing gifts such as vastra-dana and kanya-dana.
