Jyotiṣa-saṅgraha: Varga-vibhāga, Bala-nirṇaya, Garbha-phala, Āyuḥ-gaṇanā
aṃtardaśāsu vidaśāstāsu copadaśāstathā | daśeśamitrasvoccakṣaṃgobjobdhyekādrivṛddhigaḥ || 142 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames worldly rise and decline as time-bound (daśā-based) outcomes, encouraging discernment and steadiness—so one uses favorable periods for dharma and inner progress rather than mere enjoyment.
By showing that external prosperity depends on changing periods, it indirectly supports bhakti as the stable refuge: one should anchor the mind in devotion while navigating favorable and unfavorable daśās.
Jyotiṣa Vedāṅga: interpretation of major and sub-periods (daśā/antardaśā) and how dignity (own sign, exaltation, friendly placement) and strength factors indicate growth-oriented results.
