Jyotiṣa-saṅgraha: Varga-vibhāga, Bala-nirṇaya, Garbha-phala, Āyuḥ-gaṇanā
लग्नायुरंशास्त्रिगुणा दिग्भिक्ता स्युः समास्ततः । शेषेऽर्कादिगुणे भक्ते दिग्भर्मासादिकं भवेत् ॥ १३४ ॥
lagnāyuraṃśāstriguṇā digbhiktā syuḥ samāstataḥ | śeṣe'rkādiguṇe bhakte digbharmāsādikaṃ bhavet || 134 ||
Les degrés de l’ascendant (lagna) et ceux de la durée de vie doivent être triplés puis divisés selon les directions ; le quotient obtenu donne la mesure totale. À partir du reste, en le divisant par les facteurs du Soleil et des autres planètes, on obtient les divisions directionnelles, à commencer par le «bhāga directionnel».
