तत्करोति तदाचष्टे हेतुमत्यपि णिर्मतः । धात्वर्थे कर्तृकरणाञ्चित्राद्याश्चापि धातवः ॥ ७३ ॥
tatkaroti tadācaṣṭe hetumatyapi ṇirmataḥ | dhātvarthe kartṛkaraṇāñcitrādyāścāpi dhātavaḥ || 73 ||
« Il fait cela » et « il fait connaître cela » : ainsi se définit la racine verbale, même lorsqu’elle prend un sens causatif. Quant au sens de la racine, certaines expriment surtout l’agent et l’instrument, et il existe aussi d’autres racines de types variés.
