Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 15

Sṛṣṭi-pralaya-kathana: Mahābhūta-guṇāḥ, Vṛkṣa-indriya-vādaḥ, Prāṇa-vāyu-vyavasthā

यतः सृष्टानि भूतानि जायंते च म्रियंति च । सोऽमृजत्प्रथमं देवो महांतं नाम नामतः ॥ १५ ॥

yataḥ sṛṣṭāni bhūtāni jāyaṃte ca mriyaṃti ca | so'mṛjatprathamaṃ devo mahāṃtaṃ nāma nāmataḥ || 15 ||

De Lui naissent les êtres créés, et de Lui aussi ils meurent. Ce Seigneur divin fit d’abord surgir le principe nommé « Mahat », connu sous ce même nom.
