श्रीब्रह्मोवाच । अथ ते संप्रवक्ष्यामि मार्कंडेयाभिधं मुने । पुराणं सुमहत्पुण्यं पठतां श्रृण्वतां सदा ॥ १ ॥
śrībrahmovāca | atha te saṃpravakṣyāmi mārkaṃḍeyābhidhaṃ mune | purāṇaṃ sumahatpuṇyaṃ paṭhatāṃ śrṛṇvatāṃ sadā || 1 ||
Śrī Brahmā dit : À présent, ô sage, je t’exposerai pleinement le Purāṇa nommé Mārkaṇḍeya, immensément vaste et souverainement méritoire pour ceux qui le lisent sans cesse et pour ceux qui l’écoutent avec foi.
