The Exposition of the Index (Anukramaṇī) of the Śrīmad Bhāgavata
Suta (Sūta) narrating the Anukramaṇikā (table-of-contents style summary) of Narada Purana
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It functions as an index-verse, pointing the reader from exemplary dharma (Vidura’s character) to higher inquiry (meeting Maitreya) and finally to metaphysical origins (creation and the Supreme Self).
Indirectly: by highlighting saintly conduct and association with realized sages (Vidura’s meeting with Maitreya), it signals the puranic method—purification through character and satsanga that ripens into God-centered understanding.
No specific Vedāṅga is taught in this verse; it is a structural anukramaṇikā marker that organizes narrative themes (itihāsa-style exemplars) and cosmological doctrine (sṛṣṭi-prakaraṇa).
