The Narration of the Brāhma Purāṇa’s Account
Brāhma Purāṇānukramaṇikā
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It presents the Purāṇa as a primordial, comprehensive revelation meant to guide all four aims of life, implying that sacred history and dharma are perennial across cosmic cycles.
By calling the Purāṇa the seed of dharma and mokṣa for every kalpa, it frames Purāṇic teaching—often centered on devotion—as an enduring means to right living and liberation.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; instead it emphasizes the Purāṇa’s encyclopedic scope as a foundational guide for human goals.
