FAQs

It highlights sankalpa (a heartfelt resolve) being fulfilled through dharmic action—specifically, honoring sacred observance by preparing appropriate offerings/food and involving a brāhmaṇa in the rite.

Bhakti here appears as practical devotion: a devotee expresses dependence and reverence (toward Nandinī and the ritual order) and seeks success through disciplined, reverential observance rather than mere desire.

Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implied—classification of foods by preparation method (oil-cooked vs. pot-cooked) and their suitability for a specific observance day, aligning conduct with prescribed ritual norms.
