Account of the Aṣṭamī Vow Across the Twelve Months
दर्शनं जगदम्बायाः सर्वानंदप्रदं नृणाम् । अत्रैवाशो ककलिकाप्राशनं समुदाहृतम् ॥ २ ॥
darśanaṃ jagadambāyāḥ sarvānaṃdapradaṃ nṛṇām | atraivāśo kakalikāprāśanaṃ samudāhṛtam || 2 ||
Le darśan, la vision bénie, de Jagadambā accorde aux hommes une félicité totale. Ici même est aussi proclamée la pratique appelée «kakalikā-prāśana», le rite de consommer la kakalikā.

It emphasizes that merely obtaining Jagadambā’s darśana is itself a complete source of ānanda (spiritual joy), and it simultaneously notes an associated local rite (kakalikā-prāśana) as part of that sacred context.
By highlighting darśana as ‘sarvānandaprada,’ the verse frames devotion as direct, grace-centered encounter—where reverent visitation of the Devī is presented as a potent bhakti-act yielding inner fulfillment.
Rather than a Vedāṅga technical point (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa), the verse reflects Purāṇic prayoga—ritual prescription—by naming a specific observance (prāśana/partaking) connected to a sacred site or Devī-context.
