Saptamī-vrata-prakāśana
शर्करा च ततस्तस्मादिक्षुसारामृतोपमा । इष्टा रवेरतः पुण्या शर्करा हव्यकव्ययोः ॥ २३ ॥
śarkarā ca tatastasmādikṣusārāmṛtopamā | iṣṭā raverataḥ puṇyā śarkarā havyakavyayoḥ || 23 ||
De cette essence de la canne naît le sucre (Śarkarā), semblable à l’amṛta. Ainsi le sucre est cher à Sūrya et tenu pour méritoire, tant pour les offrandes aux dieux (havis) que pour les rites aux ancêtres (kavya).
