The Second Twelve-Month Vrata: Dvitīyā Observances and Their Fruits
Suta
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It states that correct worship—especially performed at an auspicious time (the start of night) and with devotion—can yield both bhukti (well-being in life) and mukti (liberation), uniting worldly duty with the highest aim.
The verse emphasizes bhaktyā (devotion) and yatnataḥ (earnest effort): the inner attitude and disciplined performance of worship are presented as the decisive factors that make the rite spiritually efficacious.
It implicitly relies on Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Jyotiṣa-style timing (choosing niśārambha, the start of night) to indicate that proper observance and auspicious timing shape the promised phala (result).
