FAQs

It frames a structured Puranic remembrance: tracing divine lineages (Prajāpati), the emergence of devas, and key cosmic episodes (Maruts), encouraging a dharmic understanding of order (ṛta) in creation.

Indirectly, it supports bhakti by situating devotional practice within sacred history—knowing the divine cosmic narrative (devas and Maruts) is presented as part of Purāṇic śravaṇa (hearing), a classic limb of devotion.

The verse is primarily an anukramaṇikā-style outline rather than a Vedāṅga teaching; its practical takeaway is the Purāṇic method of organizing topics (genealogy and sarga) for systematic study and recitation.
