Index/Summary of the Kūrma Purāṇa
यया चरितया सम्यग्लभे गतिमुत्तमाम् । चतुर्थेऽस्यास्तथा पादे शूद्रवृत्तिरुदाहृता ॥ १७ ॥
yayā caritayā samyaglabhe gatimuttamām | caturthe'syāstathā pāde śūdravṛttirudāhṛtā || 17 ||
En vivant selon cette discipline, on obtient justement la fin suprême. De même, dans le quatrième pāda sont exposés les devoirs et le moyen de subsistance des śūdra.
Suta (narrating the Narada Purana’s contents in an anukramanika/synopsis style)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It emphasizes that correct conduct aligned with dharma leads to the highest spiritual attainment, and it notes that the text also includes guidance for every varna, including the Śūdra, within its structured sections.
While not naming bhakti directly, it frames spiritual success as dependent on “proper practice” (samyak-caritā). In the Narada Purana’s broader teaching style, such right conduct commonly supports devotion through disciplined living and dharmic duty.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this line; it functions as a structural synopsis indicating that social duties (vṛtti/dharma) are systematically covered by sections (pādas) of the work.
