The Exposition of the Anukramaṇī (Index/Summary) of the Liṅga Purāṇa
Narada (contextual benediction within the Anukramanika narrative)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It affirms that Śiva’s grace (prasāda) is the decisive cause for auspicious birth and well-being, and that steadfast devotion to Śiva yields benefit across both worldly life and the afterlife.
Bhakti is presented as relationship-based reliance on the deity’s favor: the verse emphasizes that being a ‘Śivabhakta’ naturally culminates in the Lord’s anugraha, removing doubt about the devotee’s welfare.
No specific Vedāṅga technique is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is the Purāṇic principle of ‘prasāda’—devotional conduct and worship leading to divine favor and auspicious outcomes.
