Kṛtayuga Description and Instruction on Royal Dharma
ततस्ते जलदा घोरा राविण: पुरुषर्षभ । सर्वतः प्लावयन्त्याशु चोदिता: परमेछ्िना
tataste jaladā ghorā rāviṇaḥ puruṣarṣabha | sarvataḥ plāvayantyāśu coditāḥ parameśṭhinā ||
Alors, ô taureau parmi les hommes, ces nuées de pluie terrifiantes, grondant comme le tonnerre—mises en branle par le Créateur—déversèrent promptement l’averse de toutes parts et submergèrent toute chose.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights divine or cosmic agency: when the Creator’s will operates, natural forces can become irresistible, reminding humans of humility before dharma-ordered reality and the limits of personal power.
Vaiśampāyana describes terrifying, thunderous clouds that, driven by Parameṣṭhin (Brahmā), rapidly rain everywhere and inundate the surroundings, creating a scene of overwhelming flood.
