कृतयुगवर्णनम् तथा राजधर्मोपदेशः
Kṛtayuga Description and Instruction on Royal Dharma
स्वप्रमाणमथो विप्र त्वया कृतमनेकश: । घोरेणाविश्य तपसा वेधसो निर्जितास्त्वया,द्विजश्रेष्ठी आपने तत्परतापूर्वक चित्तवृत्तियोंका निरोध करके सम्पूर्ण लोकोंके पितामह साक्षात् लोकगुरु ब्रह्माजीकी आराधना की है। विप्रवर! आपने अनेक बार इस जगत्की प्रारम्भिक सृष्टिको प्रत्यक्ष किया है और घोर तपस्याद्वारा (मरीचि आदि) प्रजापतियोंको भी जीत लिया है
svapramāṇam atho vipra tvayā kṛtam anekaśaḥ | ghoreṇāviśya tapasā vedhaso nirjitās tvayā ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Ô brāhmane, tu es toi-même la preuve de ce que tu as accompli—à maintes reprises. En t’enfonçant dans d’effroyables austérités, tu as, par ton tapas, vaincu jusqu’aux puissances “créatrices” (les Prajāpati).»
