कच्चिज्ज्ञानानि सर्वाणि प्रसन्नानि तवाच्युत | “बुद्धिमानोंमें श्रेष्ठ अच्युत! आपकी रात सुखसे बीती है न? सारी ज्ञानेन्द्रियाँ प्रसन्न तो हैंन?
kaccij jñānāni sarvāṇi prasannāni tavācyuta |
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Ô Acyuta, le plus éminent des sages, toutes tes facultés de connaissance sont-elles paisibles et limpides ? As-tu passé la nuit dans le confort, les sens et l’esprit recueillis ?»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds inner composure as a prerequisite for right counsel and righteous action: clarity of the knowing faculties (jñānāni) and serenity (prasanna) are treated as signs of well-being and readiness for dharmic deliberation.
In the Shānti Parva’s reflective setting, the speaker inquires after Acyuta’s condition—whether his night has been restful and whether his senses and mind are calm—before proceeding with further conversation and instruction.
