अव्यक्त-गुण-पुरुषविवेकः | Avyakta, Guṇas, and Discrimination of Puruṣa
अक्षर: क्षरमात्मानमबुद्धिस्त्वभिमन्यते
akṣaraḥ kṣaram ātmānam abuddhis tv abhimanyate |
Vasiṣṭha dit : Le Soi impérissable (akṣara) est, par une intelligence sans discernement, pris à tort pour périssable (kṣara). Sans même pratiquer l’austérité, on s’imagine ascète ; sans aller nulle part, on s’imagine marcheur et voyageur. Bien que délivré des liens du monde, on se croit mondain ; bien que réellement sans peur, on s’imagine craintif. Ainsi, tout en étant akṣara, on se croit destructible ; et, bien qu’au-delà de la portée de l’intellect, on se glorifie d’être intelligent — telle est la faute éthique née de l’illusion au sujet du Soi.
