Śreyas-nirdeśa (Discerning the Superior Good): Nārada–Gālava Saṃvāda

अनुषक्ता द्वयेनैते भावा: स्थावरजड्रमा: । मनुष्यके जन्म लेते ही उसका अन्त कर डालनेके लिये अन्तक (यमराज) उसके पीछे लग जाता है और बुढ़ापा भी देहधारीके पास आता ही है। समस्त चराचर पदार्थ इन दोनोंसे बँधे हुए हैं

anuṣaktā dvayenāite bhāvāḥ sthāvarajaṅgamāḥ | manuṣyake janma lete hī usakā anta kara ḍālne ke liye antaka (yamarāja) usake pīche laga jātā hai aura buṛhāpā bhī dehadhārīke pāsa ātā hī hai | samasta carācara padārtha ina donoṃse baṃdhe hue haiṃ |

Bhishma dit : Tous les états de l’être—immobiles ou mouvants—sont liés à deux compagnons. Dès qu’un homme naît, Antaka (Yama, seigneur de la Mort) le suit de près pour mener sa vie à son terme, et la vieillesse s’avance inévitablement vers tout être incarné. Ainsi, le monde entier, le mobile comme l’immobile, est tenu par ces deux-là.
